Dear Parents and Students;
Welcome to Debra Millers World of Dance Inc. We’d like to thank you for enrolling your child with us. Ms. Melissa and I are very excited for another fun and productive year and we hope our students are too!
If you have not yet filled out a registration card please fill one out today and turn it into your teacher with your registration fee and Sept. payment. Don’t forget your 2008-2009 guidelines. Today we will be handing out your first costume deposit payment, for combination classes the payment is $40.00, for comb. & jazz your payment is $60.00 and if you are enrolled in a competition class your payment will be $75.00. Please return your envelope within the next two weeks.
Fundraisers: Our first two fundraisers will be handed out today. Century Pride and Christmas Wreaths, you may do both or just pick one. Please read the attached fundraiser letters and follow the directions carefully. Your fundraiser credit will go towards your costumes and any left over will go towards lessons. If you know you are going to earn a lot of credit from your fundraiser you may write on your costume envelope using fundraiser money.
Classes starting in October, if you are interested in taking any of the specialty classe please sign up at the front table.
Hip Hop Non competitive Tuesday
Hip Hop Intermediate Comp. Saturday 8-9 Start Oct. 3rd
Advance Hip Hop Comp. Tuesdays 7-8 Starts in Sept.
Pointe Sat. 9:00-9:45 Starts Oct. 4th
Mother/Daughter Wednesdays 8-9 Starts Oct. 1st
Father/Daughter Thursday 7-8 Starts Oct. 2nd
All specialty classes are $38.00 a month except for the Beginner Pointe. Girls interested in the beginner Pointe class need to have a strong ballet background and must be 11 years of age or older.
Brothers Hip Hop – Girls get your older or younger brothers to come in and learn some hip hop moves. This is a 6 seek session to let them get a feel of what hip hop is all about.
Adult Class – Monday 8-9:30 Starts TODAY!
Mommy & Me – For children 18 months to 2 ½ years
Production THRILLER is BACK!! Saturdays 10:00
All Specialty classes will start the first week in October and all competition students will start their Friday classes on Friday October 3rd.
During the month of September students will be watched to make sure they are suitable for the class they are in. If we see that it is too easy or too hard we may find it necessary to move your child to an alternate class. September will be some review and conditioning.
We ask that you read over our policies in your guidelines.
Please no loud conversations or noisy play in the viewing area. Students and siblings are to be supervised at all times. Parents that are here to watch the preschool class please do not stand by the windows while barre work is being performed. We need the students watching the teachers and not the parents. Parents make sure your child uses the rest room before class as we cannot have students disrupting class by leaving the room.
Dance attire is a very important part of your child’s dance class. If you’re dressed like a dancer you perform like a dancer. If students are not in their proper dancewear they will not be allowed to take class that day, all hair is to be pulled back into a bun or ponytail. Shoes are ready to be picked up if you ordered them at registration. If you need to order shoes you may do so today. All competition students need to have ballet shoes and foot undeez, NO MORE SOCKS ALLOWED! If you have any questions on Dance Attire please don’t hesitate to talk to me (Miss. Debbie).
Attendance- Making your dance classes each week will make you a better dancer. We need you to be disciplined and dedicated to your hours of dance you put in at the studio. If your absent from class you miss out on the new steps that are taught that week and the review from the week before. Try hard to put any appointments etc. on an alternate day, please keep your hours of dance open.
Make sure you pick up after yourselves and that you take all your belongings home. We are not responsible for any lost items.
